Volunteers in MedicineVolunteers in Medicine of Lackawanna County provides FREE primary care and specialty services to low income uninsured patients.
To be eligible to become a patient at VIM certain qualifications must be met, they are:

  • Be employed with a household income within 200% of the annually published, Federal Poverty Guidelines.
  • NOT have private health insurance
  • NOT have federally funded insurance such as Medical Assistance
  • Live or work in Lackawanna County

Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) is a homeless prevention program designed to assist veterans and veterans’ families at risk of homelessness, to maintain their housing and rapidly re-house families who have recently become homeless.
